Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry is accepting applications for a Part-Time Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support of the Psychiatry Department’s activities with occasional guidance. You will also respond to customer needs by consulting with others as appropriate or by following established guidelines.

He/she will also organize the flow of daily operations to ensure service priorities are met.

The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Heavy phone work includes scheduling and triage of caller needs; professionalism and phone etiquette a must.

  • Performs a variety of administrative support which may include scheduling, booking travel, expense processing and purchasing.

  • Compiles, coordinate and assist in the collection, processing and submission of data.

  • Prepares reports and other documentation as requested by area.

  • Creates and maintains accurate documents and records.

  • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.

Position Shift:

  • 20 hours a week, flexible on days and times within the workweek.

  • Position does not have the potential to go full-time. Must desire a long-term, part-time position.

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Customer service and professional telephone etiquette are a must.

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience, especially Outlook and Word
