Department Summary:

It is important to choose the best cosmetic surgery team to fit your needs. At Vanderbilt, our cosmetic plastic surgeons are board-certified specialists with many decades of combined experience. Our surgeons have trained many of the plastic surgeons practicing in the Nashville area.

The Vanderbilt Center for Cosmetic Plastic Surgery is a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the needs of all patients. We offer everything from initial consultations to procedures and recovery, all in one location for your convenience.

The center is in a secluded setting that protects your privacy and provides a calming and soothing environment for healing. A separate postoperative waiting area allows you to relax in privacy during follow-up visits.

Monday – Friday; Days

Your Role:

Responsible for providing clients with skin care services. May be responsible for building a client database. Reconciles daily business transactions.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experiences:

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Licensed Aesthetician

  • Ability to get the job done and maintain a smooth clinic flow

  • Team player

  • Detail-oriented

  • Refer patients to the surgeons when questions regarding skin care are not easily answered or there is a procedure type question.

  • Provide clients with professional skin care services including various types of facials, peels, waxes, makeup application, microdermabrasion and endermologie treatments.

  • Educate clients about cosmetic lines and products.

  • Teach clients about their existing skin status and offer ways to enhance their skin care through product, nutrition and healthy lifestyle.

  • Offer clients teaching materials that relate to their choice of skin care products and products that best meet their individual needs.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Maintain supplies and inventory as necessary.

  • Add supplies and inventory as demand dictates keeping cost and budget targets in mind.

  • May assist with data base maintenance and front desk coverage.

  • When available, assist with Inform and Enhance to include making calls to patients. Additional duties must not impact role and responsibilities as Medical Aesthetician as stated in job description.

  • Occasional: Noise: May include exposure to occupational noise levels which equal or exceed an 8-hr time-weighted average of 85 decibels, requiring enrollment in VUMC's Hearing Conservation Program which includes training, use of hearing protection, and periodic audiometry.

Environmental Conditions

  • Occasional: Chemicals and Gasses: Medications, cleaning chemicals, oxygen, other medical gases used in work area.

  • Occasional: Pathogens: Risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other contagious illnesses.

  • Occasional: Radiation: May be exposed to occupational radiation, requiring enrollment in VUMC's Radiation Safety Program which includes training, use of personal protective equipment with lead shielding, and personal dose monitoring.

  • Occasional: Climate: Ability to withstand exposure to atmospheric extremes including heat, cold, humidity, and barometric pressure changes.
