Vanderbilt University Medical Center Clinical Translational Research Coordintor I - Cognitive/Behavioral Neurology in Nashville, Tennessee
We are seeking a motivated and independent applicant for immediate hire as a clinical research coordinator in the department of behavioral and cognitive neurology. Our lab uses a combination of structural MRI, functional connectivity MRI, and behavioral testing to understand complex neurological disorders including delusions, hallucinations, free will perception, and abnormal moral behavior. The applicant will help with recruitment, coordinating patient visits, and administering behavioral testing in ongoing studies in dementia patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms. Responsibilities will include: 1.) Coordinating the approval of research protocols through the IRB; 2.) Recruitment of patients and coordination of study visits, including administration of behavioral tests and scheduling of neuroimaging; and 3.) Data entry, management, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn basic computing skills. Familiarity with psychological research tools (Presentation, E-prime), statistical software (R, SPSS), and an interest in cognitive neuroscience and/or medicine is also highly desired. Interested applications will also have the opportunity to participate in the writing of manuscripts or abstracts for scientific meetings.
Coordinate Research Projects
With assistance, prepares and processes new IRBresearch proposals, amendments, continuing review applications andadverse event reports according to institutional and departmentalpolicies and procedures.
Uses coordination skills and works collaboratively tocomplete research protocols, including participant eligibility andrecruitment, scheduling study visits, administering patientquestionnaires and behavioral tasks.
Records data from patient medical records,questionnaires, and behavioral tests onto case report forms (either paperor electronic) with awareness and attention to the requirements foraccuracy, completeness and timeliness.
Download, organize, and store behavioral testing data onto labcomputers and servers
With guidance and training, conduct basic statistical processingof behavioral data using statistical software
Assist with the creation of figures, charts, and tables ofresearch findings
Assist with preparation of manuscripts and abstracts forscientific meetings, if desired.
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and < 1 year experience

- Prior to advancing to a Clinical/Translational Research Coordinator II, must have completed a Research 101 course such as RSS Boot camp
