Overall Duties and Responsibilities
This position provides accounting support for construction project start up, coordination, cash flow, close out and other general accounting functions. Position interfaces with internal and external clients including vendors and contractors.
Highly responsive and attentive to the requests/needs of internal and external clients – including vendors and contractors.
Maintains project files for multiple projects.
Monitors project funding and payment progress and advises project team of changes as needed
Reviews, verifies and processes all contractor and vendor payments
Reviews accuracy of supporting documentation submitted by contractors and vendors
Reconciles project costs to the general ledger and project accounting software
Collaborates with the project team in the monitoring and review of all project billing, ensuring timely and accurate approvals and payment
Responsible for the review, verification and processing of all contractor and general condition related payments associated with assigned projects.
Works with project team to ensure timely payment of construction billings on multiple projects.
Ensures all required documentation is received and approved before closing projects.
Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office
Interfaces with project team and senior management on all aspects of project accounting.
Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years accounting experience. 3- 5 years preferred
A/E/C industry experience is preferred
4-year degree in accounting or finance required
Excellent communication skills
MS Office skills required, including Word, Excel and Outlook
