Your Role:

  • Support the development of programs and materials to communicate information to various audiences (e.g. employees, media, or patients).

  • Work on concepts, designs, and production of graphic and communication materials for the University and Medical Center.

  • Coordinate production and execution of these communication materials, displays, etc. (brochures, newsletters, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write, design and produce communications, including web, print, special events and presentations

  • Contribute to the success of the communications team and priority projects

  • Manage communications calendar, including weekly updates

  • Track and analyze metrics to measure website performance

  • Research opportunities that will help make communication plans successful, including new technologies, grass roots marketing and social media

  • Collaborate with staff on new ideas and best practices for communications

  • Develop, manage and ensure timely implementation of project plans

  • Create and manage materials archive

Position Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) and 1 year of experience

  • Adobe InDesign

  • Multi-Media Design (i.e., PowerPoint, e-newsletters, posters, websites, invitations, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Video editing experience

  • Content Management System experience (i.e., Drupal)

  • Knowledge of HTML coding

  • Occasional: Vision: Clarity of near vision at 20 inches or less and far vision at 20 feet or more with depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision.

  • Frequent: Noise: May include exposure to occupational noise levels which equal or exceed an 8-hr time-weighted average of 85 decibels, requiring enrollment in VUMC's Hearing Conservation Program which includes training, use of hearing protection, and periodic audiometry.

  • Continuous: Communication: Expressing or exchanging written/verbal/electronic information.
