Department/Unit Summary

As the Perioperative Support Services Department at Vanderbilt Medical Center, we are dedicated to maintaining a healthy and clean environment for our patients and family members. We have a very diverse department with team members who engage the environment of Vanderbilt. We sustain a high standard of support for our clinical staff as well as our patients. The Perioperative Support Services Team is responsible for ensuring that the hospital environment is patient ready and our safety standards are in position, our team is full of employees who are always willing to help!

Our team consists of three units under the Leadership of a Certified healthcare Environmental Services trained Perioperative Support Services team., Our intent is to support the clinical staff in every aspect of ensuring that our patient has a 100% of the time great Patient experience.

Your Role :

  • Use proper AAMI/JACHO guidelines

  • Maintain hospital floor care through our floor care program

  • Complete the 9 Steps of Cleaning Process

  • Responsible for retrieving equipment

  • Blood pickup from blood unit

  • Communicate with each other and the dispatcher

JOB SUMMARY :

Assists the patient care manager with the coordination of the daily patient surgical schedule in conjunction with the charge nurse, physician, and staff nurse with regular guidance. Ensures instrumentation and supplies are verified according to preference cards and added to case cart prior to entry into operating room. Ensures the appropriate specialty equipment is available and placed in each operating room prior to the scheduled procedure. Delivers sterile supplies and equipment to the Operating Room.
