Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking to hire a Phlebotomist II, whom will report to the Team Leader of VUMC’s Diagnostic Outpatient Phlebotomy Laboratories and whom will have overall responsibilities for providing phlebotomy laboratory services and exceptional customer service with minimal guidance – including venipuncture, basic telephone etiquette and assisting patients with obtaining resolutions, in accordance with diagnostic laboratory protocols.
Performs Phlebotomy with minimal guidance. Responsible for accessioning specimens or patient tissue materials for testing including packaging specimens or tissue materials to be sent out to referring laboratory. Works closely with all laboratory staff, medical staff, and external customers. Performs customer service functions including telephone etiquette and basic troubleshooting and problem resolution. - High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and 1 year relevant experience
Three or more years of high volume venipuncture
Phlebotomy ASCP certification
Full-Time, 9:00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday
Weekend and holiday rotations = a Sat/Sun once every 3 rd , once/maybe twice out of every 7 holidays with a minimum of 2hrs work required with the rotations
