Under general supervision, provide support for social, economic, or health related research; investigate, gather, assess and clarify data; organize and supervise distribution of information; coordinate general laboratory maintenance and inventory control.

Preference: Spanish Speaking and writing skills preferred.


  • Collect, organize, and evaluate data from a variety of reference sources

  • Develop and document reports and analyses summarizing progress, trends, and conclusions

  • Prepare reports for analysis of research data

  • Assist in modification and coordination of research procedures and techniques

  • Recruit and/or interview study participants

  • Develop forms and questionnaires that will collect the appropriate data

  • Create database files and maintain records

  • Assist in the preparation of materials for publication

  • Edit and/or type manuscripts according to accepted practices

  • Create informational materials related to research/study for dissemination to study participants, researchers, community

  • Make presentation of study concepts in group session

  • Presentations are conducted in a professional manner

  • Keep abreast of trends in field of study

  • Read professional journals and attend meetings and/or seminars

  • Supervise Research Analyst I, technical support staff and student assistants

  • Plan, train, and assign work

  • Coordinate maintenance of lab.

  • May assist in space and facilities planning.

  • Order supplies and equipment.

  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment.


  • Under partial supervision by research coordinators, the Research Analyst II will assist the research team in conducting observational and epidemiologically-based studies focused on inherited cancer predisposition. Duties include recruitment and enrollment of study participants, as well as gathering and maintaining study related data.

  • Responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of patients to approved research protocols under partial supervision by research coordinators. This duty involves outreach to those interested in joining the research protocols via phone, email, or mail.

  • Prepares data collected from participants for secure charting and computer database entry. This duty involves data management skills and the use of Excel spreadsheets and Access and REDCap databases

  • Administers informed consents and questionnaires.

  • Maintains records related to the conduct of the research projects. This duty requires photocopying forms, establishing a system for filing paper records, corresponding with external medical records departments, and maintaining HIPAA compliance with respect to identifiable information.

  • May contribute to data analysis according to experience and in consultation with supervisor.

  • Attends research meetings with the members of the research team to monitor and discuss ongoing research activities.

Bachelor's Degree in biology or social science field and 2 years of researc experience.
