JOB SUMMARY:

Evaluates and assesses key financial performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, under occasional guidance.Provides support for revenue cycle initiatives through the extraction and analysis of data impacting the hospital and provider revenue cycles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with others within the organization to ensure efficient and effective processes for improved revenue cycle outcomes.

  • Understands and documents revenue cycle processes, evaluates and assesses financial indicators.

  • Summarizes key findings/recommendations and presents revenue cycle data to leadership.

  • Analyzes operational data/trends and utilizes national benchmarks to gauge performance

  • Creates and customizes reports for internal customers.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

REVENUE CYCLE - Knowledge of the financial process to track patient care from registration and scheduling to the final payment of a balance.

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS - The process of evaluating businesses, projects, budgets, etc. to determine their performance, stability and profitability.

PROBLEM SOLVING - Uses critical thinking and process improvement i.e. coaches and mentors development of problem statement, describes current state, identifies root causes, creates future state, coaches and mentors development of solutions and action plans with a sustainability plan. Applies appropriate tools to address issues.

COMMUNICATION OF RESULTS - Communicates results and recommendations to customers in a concise and non-technical format. Clearly states implications and potential next steps. Presents analysis, ideas, and findings using the appropriate data visualization and presentation tools [such as Word, Excel, Tableau, and PowerPoint].

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE - Demonstrates knowledge of the appropriate rules and regulations and apply them in difficult, stressful and complex situations. Able to interpret and explain rules and regulations that are ambiguous or unclear. Directs others in interpreting rules and regulations on the job and trains others in them.

BUSINESS RESULTS - Ability to achieve business results while focusing on quality, customer satisfaction, and stewardship.
