Vanderbilt University Medical Center Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services to provide strategic onsite leadership for our affiliate, West Tennessee Healthcare headquartered in Jackson, TN. We are seeking a strong and motivated individual with leadership and business experience to provide overall strategic leadership. This role has both administrative and operational responsibility for Pathways Behavioral Health Services including a 25-bed inpatient psychiatric facility, a 12-bed crisis stabilization unit, three peer support centers, and six outpatient clinics. This leader will partner with a Vanderbilt Behavioral Health Clinical Advisory Team and Director of Clinical Education and Professional Development to support West Tenneessee Healthcare initiatives to meet the behavioral health needs of this region. This position will be a VUMC employee working onsite at West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson and supported by senior leadership at both VUMC and West Tennessee Healthcare.

Provides administrative oversight and leadership to assigned operational units in a manner that supports the mission, vision and credo of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Participates in the determination of functions and processes to achieve clinical and administrative goals. Acquires and allocates human, material and financial resources for outcomes. Administers, interprets and explains policies, rules, regulations and laws to ensure administrative and operational objectives are met. Serves as a resource to management and staff regarding administrative policies and regulatory standards. Monitors compliance.
Develops, directs, implements,and evaluates behavioral health programs in a manner consistent withMedical Center's commitment to continuous improvement in the quality ofpatient care and consistent with appropriate budgetary parameters.
Supports the provision ofpatient and family centered care.
Reviews standards, policies,and procedures with the leadership staff and monitors implementation toassure the maintenance to improving the quality of service and careprovided.
Establishes positive workingrelationships with key physicians, leaders and staff across theorganization.
Facilitates open andconstructive communication across all departments.
Integrates hospitaladministration with clinic administration other hospital departments anddisciplines of the medical center in an effort to create an atmosphere ofcooperation and coordination among the medical center's administrativeleadership.
Assures that all appropriatelicensure and accreditation standards are met in areas of responsibility.
Develops and supports staffpersonal and professional growth.
Provides leadership bymodeling elevate principles and by setting expectations for leaders todevelop in their roles.
Monitors performance againstservice standards.
Communicates goals andobjectives effectively to all department leaders in the organization.
Provides ongoing measurementand documentation of goal achievement.
Utilizes customersatisfaction, best practice data and market information to improvecustomer service and satisfaction. Utilizes all tools provided by theelevate process to enhance customer service.
Provides leadership tomanagement staff in the development of annual budgets.
Master’sdegree or higher education required.
10+years’ progressive leadership experience (Required)

Frequent: Noise: May include exposure to occupational noise levels which equal or exceed an 8-hr time-weighted average of 85 decibels, requiring enrollment in VUMC's Hearing Conservation Program which includes training, use of hearing protection, and periodic audiometry.
