Vanderbilt University Medical Center TempForce was created to connect diverse, temporary talent to all areas of VUMC.

VUMC TempForce has opportunities for a Utility Service Aides. In this role, you will be specifically be responsible for the maintainance, cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen equipment to include pots, pans, utensils and food storage containers. You will set up dish room, assist in setting up food in the Doctor’s lounge, collect and pick up dirty tray carts, bring them to kitchen, break them down empty trash and taking it to compactor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains all utility cooking and servingfood vessels in a sanitary and serviceable condition.

  • Stores sanitized cooking vessels and utensilsto ensure availability for use at beginning of all shifts.

  • Maintains a safe, sanitary and organizedproduction and storage areas and equipment.

  • Maintains a safe working environment.

  • The responsibilities listed are a generaloverview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.

Core Accountabilities

  • Organizational Impact: Performs tasks thatare typically routine that may impact team's performance with occasionalguidance.

  • Problem Solving/ Complexity of work: Utilizessome discretion and research to solve routine problems.

  • Breadth of Knowledge: Applies knowledge ofstandards, established processes and procedure that apply to your own job.

  • Team Interaction: Provides guidance to entrylevel co-workers.

Hours

  • 16 hours per week; 6a-2:30p 1 day per week + every other weekend

Length of Assignment

  • 6 months

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalentexperience) (Required)

Experience

  • 1 year relevant experience (Preferred)

PhysicalRequirements/Strengths Needed

  • "Light Work" category requiringexertion up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and uses negligible amounts offorce to move objects.
