Vanderbilt University Medical Center Virtualization System Administrator in Nashville, Tennessee

This role requires first-rate ability to implement and manage the systems and infrastructure components for enterprise, mission-critical computing environments in a Windows Server environment

JOBSUMMARY – Windows System Admin:

Manages systems and infrastructure components for mission-critical computing environments under occasional guidance. Provides support services for systems administration, networking, performance tuning, monitoring and capacity planning while adhering to enterprise ITIL process and procedures. Builds infrastructure to support business environment. Enforces policies and procedures for maintaining the security and integrity of the system and ensures the system meets availability and disaster recovery requirements. Ability to solve medium to complex problems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers and manages Windowssystems of moderate to medium complexity - all aspects of planning,set-up, deployment, updates and maintenance.

  • Manages VMware vSphere,Microsoft System Center Configuration and Hyper-V environments

  • Ensures adherence to relevantsecurity policies and regulatory governances.

  • Mitigates hardware/softwareissues, performance bottlenecks and overall system health concerns

  • Provides technical guidance toVanderbilt community

  • Supports and implementsbusiness computing environments.

    TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

Successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of Windows based servers, troubleshooting support issues, installing new hardware and software, and supporting several ancillary systems. Candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to work under limited supervision. This support will be on premise and cloud based implementation. Assist in developing strategies for cloud based implementation and hybrid solutions.

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 2 years relevant experience
